Elizabeth Baldwin (University of Arizona School of Government and Public Policy) and Tom Evans (University of Arizona School of Geography and Development) recently organized a work group titled “Multi-method Approaches for Investigating Polycentricity in CPRs” at the IASC workshop meeting held in Tempe, Arizona March 8-9. Presentations and materials focused on two themes: identifying gaps in empirical research on polycentric governance and developing research strategies that will help scholars test theory and accumulate knowledge about how polycentric governance works in practice. Presentations were made by Xavier Basurto (Duke University), Elizabeth Baldwin (University of Arizona), Adam Douglas Henry (University of Arizona), Jeff Hanlon (Northern Arizona University) and Edella Schlager (University of Arizona). The work group intends to continue discussing and sharing ideas about empirical strategies for polycentricity research.
