Collaborative governance and use of science in the Puget Sound social-ecological system. This ongoing research examines planning and implementation across multiple organizations, stakeholders, and jurisdictions. This system forms the basis of my work on the Polycentricity book (Thiel, Garrick, Blomquist editors). I also bring a comparative perspective based on my studies of collaborative governance for water management in Ohio, USA, and in Lower Saxony, Germany.
