Natural resource use and management occurs through coordinated or uncoordinated actions/decisions of actors in multiple policy fields/sectors across multiple spatial and jurisdictional scales. Using the analytical lens of polycentricity, it is possible to disentangle different factors affecting actions of actors in different situations, as well as factors determining various types of interactions among different action situations and arenas.
